Role: Executive Chef
Location: Miami
Salary: $150k p/a
Smyth & Co are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join our client’s beautiful restaurant in Florida. The successful candidate will bring a blend of Mediterranean /Asian influence to the restaurant’s culinary offerings. With a focus on excellence and innovation, our ideal candidate will have a proven track record in Michelin-starred restaurants, demonstrating expertise in managing high-volume operations while maintaining longevity and consistency.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on menu planning and creation across restaurants
- Innovate and create specials to enhance guest experience
- Conduct menu costing and evaluation in coordination with cost control team
- Manage recipe development and accuracy, ensuring alignment with operational standards
- Train operational staff on new dishes and menu launches
- Audit food quality and recipe adherence regularly
- Develop standard recipes and techniques to uphold quality and minimise costs
- Evaluate food products to maintain quality standards and cost efficiency
- Liaise with Food and Beverage and Operations management to exceed guest expectations
- Stay updated on latest F&B market trends and implement accordingly
- Collaborate with various teams on menu descriptions, food matrix, and sourcing updates
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Experience in Mediterranean/French cuisine
- Experience in Michelin starred & high volume restaurants
- Culinary degree (2- or 4-year) required
- Minimum 10 years of experience in kitchen managerial roles, preferably as Head or Executive Chef in high-volume settings
- Excellent verbal communication and leadership skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities
- Proficiency in computer applications such as Excel and Windows
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment
